Meet Mattea

Director and Senior Dietitian

Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, Master of Public Health 

My name is Mattea and I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with 9 years of experience. I have completed my Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, my Masters in Public Health (Public Health Nutrition) and a Sports Nutrition Course.

Each day I am learning more and more about how I want to help people. I see balanced nutrition as crucial for good health. What you eat impacts on how your body functions. My passion and goal is to help people nourish their body correctly. 

I am a Triathlete and I have Coeliac Disease and so these areas of Nutrition are at the forefront in my life. I overcame an eating disorder and body image issues in my teen years and now I wish to help women learn to nourish their bodies, let go of the number on the scale, stop restricting and binging, stop FAD dieting and stop counting calories. 

I believe in holistic health including both health of the body and mind.   

I am passionate about sustainable eating for both our health and for the planet. I believe in an individualised approach to nutrition and so I treat each client individually. I will listen to your story, hear your goals and be with you throughout every step of your journey.

My philosophy

l specialise in Holistic Health, Non- Diet Approach, Weight Neutral Care, Sport Nutrition, Gut Health and Eating Disorders.

I am passionate about helping my clients achieve sustainable change, improving eating habits and healing their relationship with food.

My mission is to arm you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage your own nutrition for the rest of your life. It's learning about food, connecting with, trusting and respecting your body and its ever-changing needs. It's about (re)discovering a love of food, and making food choices based on a sense of freedom, not restriction, deprivation and fear.

    I have been following the plan and I would say my energy has been better, I have been training well, strength has increased (made my coach laugh a few times when he kept adding the weights). Sleep advice is definitely helping, I have been reading books rather than screen time. The great news is that I have been selected for the National Powerlifting Champs in Brisbane

  • Night time cravings have stopped!

    I told my doctor I then got input from Mattea to increase my carbohydrates to reduce my craving for food just before I go to bed. The input from you has increased my energy - from eating more carbohydrates and more fruit, it stopped the night time cravings

  • No longer tired and feeling depleted

    My energy levels are much better I definitely don’t feel as depleted and tired

    I eat more. I feel more energetic. I’ve lost weight and I have a greater understanding of what I need to eat to nourish my body

    I have learnt so much from the Nutrition and Mindset program. It has helped me so much with my binge eating and the understanding of having a balanced diet and a freedom of food! I used to stress so much about my eating and it controlled me everyday, and the aftermath of that is I would try to be “healthy” (restricting any sort of sugar) and then immediately give up and binge eat. But now I can eat anything I want without guilt, and I feel comfortable in my body. I have also improved my gut health, after assessing my diet and realising I needed more fruit and vegetables. I’m so glad I completed this program, I feel so content with my eating now!
